Abstract Due to an increase in aging population and changing eating habits diabetes
mellitus (DM) type II is a rapidly increasing condition worldwide. Although not
so detrimental as other co-morbidities, uropathy contributes to a significantly
reduced quality-of-life in those affected. The purpose of this ICS-RS report is
to highlight clinical and basic research data to outline directions for further
research and possible treatment approaches.
